DuroMax XP10000E Portable Generator Review
DuroMax XP10000E Portable inverter generator is a Great investment as an emergency power supply to sustain your home and family during extended power outages.
Powerful generators may be used safely at home or on construction sites. One such generator is the Duromax XP10000E 10,000 Watt Generator. Most applications may be adequately powered by its 10,000 beginning and 8,000 operating watts.
You may build up a complete home backup facility, for instance, without spending money to install a backup generator. This model should be taken into account by those who live in disaster-prone areas, such as those in Florida.
With this generator, you can also power major construction tools like drills, welders, circular saws, and air compressors.
How much power can we get, and How much time can this Generator run?
A DuroMax OHV 4-stroke 439cc (18 hp) engine powers the DuroMax XP10000E. It gives operating power of 8000W and peak power of 10000W, supplies 120/240V, and burns gasoline.
The generator has a 72 dBA noise tolerance rating (just slightly noisier than a dishwasher). One of its starting systems is a traditional pull-starter, while another is an easy-to-use electric starter (battery included).
The XP10000E can run for about 10 hours at 50% load thanks to a fuel capacity of 8.3 gallons (fuel consumption around 0.83 GPH).
It is best to avoid using the XP10000E to power delicate electrical equipment because of its slightly high THD (12%).
Number of Outlets
The control panel features the upcoming 5 AC outlets:
- Duplex 120V 20A (5-20R) GFCI
- 120V 30A (L5-30R) receptacle
- 120/240V 30A (L14-30R) receptacle 120/240V 50A (14-50R) receptacle
- 1 DC plug with a 12V 8A output that you may use to quickly charge your batteries.
This DuroMax unit is considered RV-ready if you own an RV with a 50-amp service since it has a 14-50R outlet. The XP10000E also has a twist-lock L14-30R receptacle, making it transfer switch ready. As a result, it can simply be linked to your breaker box to power your home during a power outage.
Portability of the Generator
The DuroMax XP10000E’s typical, open frame design, which has dimensions of L29 x W30 x H26, provides stability and enables the generator to be placed above ground level. The gadget was made to withstand harsh conditions and intensive outdoor use.
Even though the generator is theoretically ‘portable,’ due to its weight of 218 pounds, manually moving or transporting it may be difficult (movable). However, its wheel kit and folding handle, which you may use to effortlessly relocate it once it’s on the ground, make up for this lack of mobility.
Features we like about this machine
The XP10000E’s control panel has a handy voltmeter that makes it simple to check on power output at any time while keeping track of the device’s state and activities.
If the oil level is too low, the device’s light indication will also provide this information. The generator’s fuel level can be easily, quickly, and conveniently checked thanks to a built-in fuel gauge.
Because it has overload protection (circuit breaker) and an automated low oil shut-off, the generator may be utilized with complete security.
The DuroMax XP10000E comes with a tool kit and funnel in addition to the usual paperwork and an owner’s manual (opens in a new tab), which enables you to use it right away. As a supplementary purchase, an official storage cover is furthermore offered.
Warranty information
Up to three years are included in the warranty period for the DuroMax XP10000E. This warranty might have restrictions and could not apply to all generator components.
Please refer to DuroMax’s warranty policy for further details regarding the warranty for its generators (opens in a new tab). You can also get in touch with their Customer Support as an alternative.

DuroMax XP10000E Portable Generator Review Summary
Product lines from DuroMax include dual-fuel technology. DuroMax generators have a track record of dependability and durability. The DuroMax XP1000E portable gas generator is a potent device. To power your complete home, this reliable generator is a terrific choice.
MX2 technology and idle speed are features of the DuroMax XP10000E. Better performance and reduced fuel consumption are also benefits of idle control.
On Amazon, this portable DuroMax generator has almost 80% of consumer recommendations. The majority of people like this generator’s robustness and the number of operating hours.
DuroMax 10000w Hybrid Generator. Assembly of wheel kit was okay. I had to use two hydraulic floor Jack’s to raise the 264lb system. The startup went great. The final test to transfer power to my 120v air compressor was successful. I highly recommend DuroMax brand as reliable and robust!
1st test run only. I have only own this generator a couple of weeks, had to buy oil, “no big deal” didn’t expect it, because I would have grab some from Walmart prior to leaving.
Got item running confirmed it ran a few items, but I now need to connect to the house to confirm it does what I want it to do lol.
Powers a whole house and more! Purchased this after tbe last hurricane in my area. Was surprised at the packaging and layout of the pieces. Everything went together smoothly and had it up and running in no time. It powers my while house including air conditioner which was a huge relief. Its as quiet as any other generator or lawnmower with a gas engine. The gas tank is nice and large but the dual fuel option is clutch being able to use propane. For the size and power output of this Generator it is very fuel efficient. I had used regular bbq propane tanks but after that first storm I purchased some larger 100lb tanks for even longer run time. I would recommend this to anyone looking to keep their family comfortable during storms and power outages.
Works Great When It Works, Needs Better Warranty. I purchased a DuroMax XP13000EH in April of 2020. With a transfer switch it can power most of my home and worked well to get us through a 6 hour blackout in February of 2021 (the first time we used it except to test it out). After that use, though, the unit would not start. Took it to a service center for warranty work and the warranty will only cover the parts and not the labor to install them, very disappointed. The issue was not with the fuel I used. It was fresh ethanol free gasoline with sta-bil.
Works beautifully. After 3 power outages lasting more than 2 days, all in 2020 adding to the misery of the pandemic, I bought this generator last September 2020. I had a generlink transfer switch installed on my electrical meter. First power outage yesterday and hold and behold, I fired the generator and it worked like a charm. I did not miss a beat and was able to continue working with no problem. I built a little shed to house it close to the meter so I do not have to wheel it in bad weather or deep snow. I keep the roof closed and the 3 sides opened. My neighbors said like it sounded like a far away lawn mower. I could hardly hear it in the house. I am very happy and prepared
The XP12000EH is a beast. The generator was able to run a high efficiency air handler with no issues. Note: Not the entire house 🙂 Enough to run what you need to survive an outage after a hurricane. I put the fridge, some lights (there almost all LED now so not a power issue), and living in Florida, Air Conditioning!!! I set up the generator in a ZombieBox to quell the drone of a lawnmower engine running for hours (as you get with any generator, more power usually equals, more noise). Keeps the Duromax out of the elements and frees up garage space.
