We bought A-iPower SUA12000E Portable Generator for the occasional power outage and have used it for 3 hours of outage on two occasions plus about 20 short runs for testing and wiring it to the house. We don't have long-term usage but when we needed it, it worked perfectly.

This is a pretty decent unit overall. It's not silent but it's pretty quiet. It comes empty of fluids, so make sure you add the required .38 Qts BEFORE you try and start it. Also, read the directions before you try and start it. There are a few things that you wouldn't think would keep it from starting that actually will. We will add a detailed review soon. In the meantime, you can read some of our other generator reviews too.

This Champion 100402 2000-Watt Dual Fuel Portable Inverter Generator have many facilities. We were in the path of Derecho! Not only suffered house and property damage but lost power for an extended period of time. Hooked this generator up to the refrigerator and our deep freezer. Definitely quieter than the rest of the neighborhood generators. Very easy to use. Fairly lightweight. I had no problem lifting, moving, or starting it. Thinking of getting a second one!

PROS:
  • Clean power thanks to inverter technology
  • 4000 starting watts and 3500 running watts in a package that weighs just under 97lbs fully assembled
  • Remote start/ shut down
  • Eco mode significantly lowers noise and fuel consumption if you don’t have power-hungry appliances/ tools connected
  • RV-ready with 30 amp twist lock outlet
  • Parallel connection with another compatible Champion generator via parallel connection kit (purchased separately)
  • Only 64 dBA of noise when measured at a distance of 23 feet (without any load connected, with a heavy load it’s closer to 68 or 70 decibels)
  • 3-year warranty and free lifetime technical support
  • All outlets have flip-up rubber covers to protect them from dust and moisture
CONS:
  • The relay for the remote start will drop out of standby mode after 12 hours of inactivity, so you have to walk up to the unit and reactivate it.
  • I read reports of some customers who have a malfunction with the low oil sensor that causes the generator to auto shut off after just a few minutes. This is very rare, and you should check oil levels to see if the sensor is malfunctioning.

I have owned a Champion 100692 Generator since 2013, and it has been a solid machine. It’s a “regular” generator, so though powerful it’s also pretty noisy. I’d been wanting a smaller inverter generator for a few years now to be able to QUIETLY run smaller stuff during power outages (among other uses).

We got this Champion 75531i Portable Inverter Generator for our RV this past week. Then the generator started on the second pull. We are using mid-grade gas and the best oil we could get for it. I started off by breaking it in. First, run it for one hour no load then put a 700-watt load on it for an hour then move it up to a 1400 watt load with a floor heater for an hour.
